The development of the training actions that take place in the MRE provides the participants with an environment in which other realities are given and horizons of knowledge are opened. These days we have been able to enjoy together, in the castle of Maimón (Córdoba), the course of Tutorial Action for children/primary, secondary, high school and cycles.
The participants, teachers and organizers have carried out the planned week of classroom training to acquire the knowledge established for this interprovincial course. This unique, annual week of Tutorial Action is intended for tutors and teachers who have stability or permanence in their function. As well as teachers with the capacity to influence their teams.
In a more exhaustive way, this formation promotes reflection on being a Marist tutor in today’s society. It is also concerned with making known strategies and tools for the application in the school; as well as to become aware of the tutorial action with globality from an appreciative look.
In this line also, the course that we have developed all this week is responsible for sharing knowledge and experiences on the development of the tutorial action in our schools today; to be agents of change once the training is finished, already in the reality of each center. In addition to enhancing leadership in teacher coordination, learning processes and relationship with families.
In the words of the attendees, these days stand out above all for the possibility of sharing and learning together.
TESTIMONIALS:
Cristina, for example, tells us that what she would highlight about this course is “its external structure, compliant schedules and respect for breaks which comes in handy for such long trainings, and the logistical availability. I know that it is not easy to put certain things into practice successfully and in the Marcellin style, but I know that I have come to see that we need to live together from time to time with other centers, to see that your concern is mine and that when I have few ideas to solve something, you have two more to help me”.
The value Cristina gives to the course is that “it enriches professional and personal development. In fact, I always try not to forget the personal. Sharing the experience reminds you of the Marist base that we all have, each zone in its own way, but the feeling of CASA you get. Fellowship and willingness to share without judgment in return. Never stop learning and training for everything. I would like to take with me energy for my fellow cloister. I personally take with me that I am a Marist, that I must review myself in the midst of so much routine and that I am effective and useful, taking into account the responsibilities there and the formation here with all that it entails.
On the other hand, Magdalena tells us that what stands out most for her is “the diversity that we all have, but at the same time we have a lot in common, in spite of being from different places and even countries”. Being able to have this experience is very valuable “because it is an enrichment for everyone. It is a way to discover how other schools work or how they are organized. It is a way to improve all at the same time to better meet the needs of our children. Learning on your own is always poorer than learning that you can share, since everyone can contribute from his or her own experience.
I would like to take with me “knowing how to reach more and better the students. To have methodologies to better adapt the PRA, techniques to be more resolute and effective in conflicts, to know how to take better care of the families, to deepen and assimilate even more the Marist values, thanks to living with three Marist Brothers. It has been fortunate, since in my center there are no brothers and who better than them to transmit to us the spirit of Champagnat. And, above all, new companions and friends who you know will always be there. They will have points of view different from yours that can always be a point of light when you need them, and vice versa”.
Lucía tells us that what she would highlight from the course “is having the opportunity to live during these days with colleagues from all over Spain, which allows us to share work and even personal experiences. I think it is a very enriching experience at all levels. I also think that the choice of speakers has been very wise. In addition, the value of this experience for me is the face-to-face part, it makes the difference because being able to share spaces and impressions during these days is what makes this training an enriching experience.
I would like to take away, besides resources and knowledge about the management of tutorial work (classroom management, conflict resolution, interviews with students and families), the personal experiences of colleagues and speakers, didactic resources and to become more aware that the Marist identity that I have been immersed in since I entered my school goes beyond its walls and is transversal to the whole Marist network. We take with us a feeling of belonging”.
Finally, Almudena emphasizes “the good organization, taking care of all the details, from the presentations to the leisure time. And the value that I take away from these days in which we broaden our outlook, establishing networks of contact among Marist educators at the international level”.
