These weeks of October have been very special because they have been full of meetings, celebrations and new projects. In particular, we closed this month satisfied and happy with the Marist week that we were able to celebrate in Dublin, Ireland. It was in this country that our Province of West Central Europe was able to enjoy Marist Week at the beginning of the month. Moyle Park College Dublin, Marist College Athlone and Marian College Dublin were witnesses to the activities and courses that took place from October 3 to 7.
Each of the three Marist colleges hosted a series of events designed to help the school communities deepen their understanding of Marist history and spirituality.
First of all, the youngest students learned about the details and milestones in the life of Marcellin Champagnat. In addition, they also visited some of the brothers’ communities in Ireland and became aware of our special Marist history and tradition.
During these days, many other events and activities have helped to expand the students’ knowledge. Our events included an art exhibition, which helped us to celebrate, learn about and explain our Marist heritage. There was also a quiz organized by the three Marist schools, and finally, on this visit to Ireland, each school had a Eucharistic celebration focused on the beginning of the school year.
We were also fortunate to enjoy a very special meeting and pilgrimage as our Marist leaders, accompanied by teachers and coordinators from the three schools, joined our three Scottish schools on a joint pilgrimage to the Hermitage.
