“Count on me” is our motto for the 2024-2025 school year, a phrase that not only guides our mission but embodies our commitment to education. With this motto, we aim to return to the roots of the Marist tradition, placing children and young people at the heart of our educational mission—and even more, making them its driving force.
“Count on me” reflects our desire to help each individual discover their unique identity, empowering them to face the future with hope, to recognize themselves as key players in the intricate web of personal and collective existence, to become agents of transformation in their own lives, and to integrate faith and life through a profound experience of God’s love.
Embracing this motto requires us to acknowledge that it is the children, adolescents, and young people who challenge us to take on the responsibility of being the architects of their growth and learning. They come to us with needs for learning and guidance, yes—but above all, with a deep desire to feel seen, valued, and included in a meaningful way.
Their sense of leadership is not the fleeting popularity of social media influencers, seeking approval through likes and follows. We speak of true protagonism—the kind that helps them find purpose, fosters their growth, and teaches them to discern how to live authentically in today’s world, building genuine connections with themselves, with others, and with God.
This year’s motto, “Count on me,” is our response to the call of the Marist Constitutions: “Let us go to meet young people where they are. Let us be bold enough to enter, perhaps, uncharted territories, where the longing for Christ is revealed in both material and spiritual poverty.” We must not stop listening to this call, which today, more than ever, is voiced by the children and young people we serve: Count on me.
