A fundamental part of the European Marist Region
A ‘whole’ will not work without coordinating and valuing all its parts. It is essential for any community to advance in harmony and take advantage of all its capabilities, feeling that each member is essential in their family. This is exactly what we do in the European Marist Region, grow and work together. Today we want to introduce you to the training team, one of the most transversal and dynamic.
We are always in favor of the movement to embrace change, ready to face new challenges and opportunities; and this would not be possible without counting on our formations, which we collect with great enthusiasm. But, how does it work?
Although work does not stop throughout the course, there is always a previous period in which all the training that we are going to deal with during the year is planned and prepared. “Currently it is usually done in six-year periods, because it is based on previous experience and everything is improved taking into account the experiences and results of past courses. Hence, the previous time it would have been four years,” explains Patxi García, responsible for this team.
Along these lines, there is remote planning, in which everything is prepared in advance, and immediate planning, in which action is taken more directly. “For example, when we contact each participant beforehand, we adapt menus or prepare the cultural trips that accompany each training”, Patxi specifies.
The person in charge of the team also tells that “each place of interest is decided according to previous experiences, but above all, by what is seen in each training. And not only that, but there are also moments of leisure in which students can share experiences and points of view”.
The MRE has been doing trainings for 20 years and have been improving thanks to the intervention of the teachers and of all the European provinces. Each course also has to be managed and registered with the FUNDAE (State Foundation for Employment Training). Under the criteria of this foundation, one amount or another is discounted. “We can say that we have a high percentage os bonus courses, because the formations work, they are usually successful.”
However, the participants and trainers agree that the most successful part corresponds to the innovation of materials and techniques, among which the ‘PlayMais’ games, group knowledge games, role-playing or working with costumes stand out. Because memory always works better when the class is dynamic, or when we have the opportunity to work as a team.
