The week of February 3 to 7, I participated together with colleagues from other educational centers in the second week of formation of the DIRECTIVE FUNCTION course organized by the Spanish Marist Conference in the house of Xaudaró.
Unlike the first week to which I went with some concern and fear of not knowing the operation of the training, this second week I arrived with joy to meet the team of wonderful colleagues, with whom I shared the first week of training in October.
The atmosphere of companionship, complicity, empathy, and joy that occurs in the formation makes the daily day go by very fast. The experiences we live in the different educational centers of the provinces they are shared with total naturalness between all the participants of the group and with the trainers of the different subjects, with which the formation is enriched by these contributions much more.
Like the first week, we have had a wide variety of training modules always directing ourselves towards the promotion of leadership in our work teams, time management, children's rights, conflict resolution and coexistence in educational centers without ever forgetting our Marist Christian identity. All schools need to keep track of our accounts and this week we have also dealt with the issue of other sources of funding so necessary for the sustainability and growth of our schools.
All these modules are taught by great professionals who put all their experience at our disposal sharing with us real situations that occur in educational centers daily.
Although we work intensively during the classes, the care we receive from all the staff of the house, brothers and laity, is unbeatable. Great care is taken of the moments of breaks sometimes so necessary between the formations. These moments are a meeting point between the different speakers and us, since we talk relaxed about the subjects taught or any other that is considered convenient to qualify personally, in the moments of coffee or lunch.
This personal attention is also perceived when on the Wednesday after the morning training and after lunch, a wonderful cultural excursion is made through the center of Madrid and culminates with a play and a dinner. These moments serve to further strengthen our personal relationships and further unite our personal ties.
Of all these two training weeks I take a sense of gratitude for the direct and personal relationship with the colleagues of the different provinces, some very necessary knowledge to put them into practice in the day to day of our centers and especially the to know that I am in the place that I like to be with this Marist human potential.
