Some of our provinces have immersed themselves in a network of podcasts to keep informed, to entertain, to excite, and to make people think. We want to make these original contents available to everyone to listen closely to what our Marist community offers and shares. We want to bring everyone closer to the possibility of being more connected, of creating networks and exploring new ways in which to meet. We present the projects that Compostela, Ibérica and Mediterránea are developing with so much passion and work.
The podcast as an educational resource (Compostelle)
In the Marist Province of Compostela, podcasts have gradually become an educational resource linked to different projects and at different stages. Thanks to this means, students carry out programs of different types that they share online and with which they learn to plan, organize, speak in public, control their time… while showing what they have learned, school projects, subjects that interest them or that they carry out interviews with relevant people in their environment. In this context, it is worth mentioning the interview of the recently deceased Brother José Santamarta, on Radio Patio of the La Inmaculada school in Valladolid. In this podcast, he talked about his educational and artistic experience. You can see all here.
Otra mirada, a podcast for a believing reading of reality (Iberian)
The School of Spirituality of the Marist Iberian Province produces and edits this podcast program, which is published monthly on the accounts of Spotify and Ivoox of the Province. This project aims to bring together current affairs, education and spirituality. Because to live animated by the Spirit is to be open to the action of the God of Jesus in daily life, to feel his presence in the events of history and to learn to look at him with the eyes of faith.
This is why it is a space for reflection and attentive listening, for serene dialogue on current topics that challenge us: since the first podcast, published in early May 2022, which allowed us to understand the keys to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; until the one published this month of May 2023, in which we approach integral ecology. The Secretary General of Catholic Schools, several Jesuit religious, the Bishop of Lugo, teachers from the Cardenal Cisneros University Center… and many other people have joined us in this podcast in the form of an interview.
From now on, if you wish, you have an appointment every month with Otra Mirada, a podcast of people for a believing reading of reality. You can access the program through the following platforms: IVOOX or SPOTIFY.
“20 conMigo”, a podcast to celebrate the year of Marist Vocations (Mediterranean)
This idea of Maristes Méditerranée began on October 20, 2022, in the middle of the Year of Vocations and with the symbolism of the 20, number linked to the birth of Saint Marcellin and the Day of the Good Mother.
And this with a full program, presented by Brother Alberto Vizcaya and lay people Ana González and Javi Castillo. It was a live broadcast, full of laughter, games, interviews and very special visitors to celebrate Marist vocations. You can see it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jEI0Ovxq-E
It was time to take advantage of all that is happening around the Year of Vocations. Among other things, a specific space has been set up on the provincial site to keep up to date with the latest news in this area: https://www.maristasmediterranea.com/year-of-marist-vocations/
Then a podcast was created, also called “20conMigo” (come with me), dedicated to the same Marist Year of Vocations. Throughout the different episodes, we discuss topics related to vocation, young people, Marist life and many other things. So far there have been five episodes (released on the 20th of each month).
We talked about Vocational Culture, with the presence of Ale, Ángel and Luis, 3 young people from the Province who recount their experience of faith; in the next, with Fer, Dori and Víctor as special guests, we discussed the Marist vocation; in the third we talked about vocation and… croquettes, connecting with the youth forum; and in the last two we talked about Being a Marist brother and Being a lay Marist, with the brothers Samuel and Alberto and the Italian lay people Alberto and Imma. Access all these podcasts through our website and also listen to them on Spotify.
