You are visiting the website of Marist Region of Europe, the administrative unit to which the five Marist Provinces of Europe belong (Compostela, Central-West Europe, Iberica, L’Hermitage and Mediterranea), present in 15 countries: Spain, Portugal, Romania, France, Greece, Hungary, Algeria, Italy, Lebanon, Syria, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands.
In the rest of the world, Marists are present in 81 countries and we are organized in six regions and 26 provinces.
In November 2019, the European Marist Conference (CEM) asks a group of brothers to design a project shaping the future Marist Region of Europe. In the process, the then existing structure, the Spanish Marist Conference (CME), which was created in 2007, is taken into account.
Finally, in September 2020, the first meeting of the Regional Council of the new Marist Region of Europe was held. It’s meant to be a structure at the service of the provinces, facilitating the common work, the sharing of resources and the feeling that we are part of the global Marist family.
The provinces are the highest level of decision-making. However, various teams formed by members of all the European provinces are working on common areas of interest.
