After this time marked by the pandemic, normality returns little by little to the summers of our MarCha groups and all our youth groups in the Marist provinces of Europe. It will undoubtedly be a summer different from those of recent years, a special summer in which to share our free time and to continue to grow and learn together.
In the Province of Compostela, from Perbes to São Macário, passing through Tui to Salamanca and flying to the Hermitage with the older ones, the young people of MarCha are returning to the camps while the older ones of the stages called “Fuente” and “Horizonte” will take advantage of the summer to have different experiences of getting to know one another. They will spend a few days volunteering in Salamanca, Leon and the Marist Lar de Ermesinde in Portugal.
In Maristas Ibérica, the summer activities, so significant and special in the process of the MarCha groups, have also resumed. From July 16 to 30, all the stages (from 5th grade of Primary to Baccalaureate) will hold their camps in different places in Spain: Lardero in La Rioja, Riaza and Navares de las Cuevas in Segovia, Oasis in Sigüenza, Río Losa in Burgos, Orobio in Bizkaia… and, for the older ones, the traditional pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
At L’Hermitage, the youth movements of Catalonia are already preparing their camps and routes. The different associations of FAJMACOR will be in Queralbs, in the Pyrenees. The first groups start on July 5 and the last ones will arrive at the end of the month. On the part of CMS (Centre Marista de Escoltes), each group has chosen a different place: Hungary, Tui (Galicia), Italy… a diversity of destinations with the desire to serve and to have a good time.
The Mediterranean Province, for its part, is planning about twenty meetings distributed among the four sites established for the occasion: Fuenteheridos (Huelva), Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), Castillo de Maimón (Córdoba) and Guardamar del Segura (Alicante). More than 1,500 people participate in these camps, which are aimed at children, adolescents and young people who take part in Friendship Groups, Marching Groups and Service Camps.
Finally, in WCE (West Central Europe Province) and in the social works, summer activities are already underway. Summer camps for children and young people are planned in several countries, and many activities have been organized once again in different environments, far from the stress of the cities. With all the enthusiasm in the world, our children and young people are once again enjoying a summer where they can live new experiences and enrich their knowledge through games and life in nature.
