On November the 3th and the 4th, the first meeting of the European Marist Youth Team of the 23-24 school year took place in Xaudaró, Madrid. It was attended by young people from Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy. The European Pastoral Team accompanied them.
On the agenda was the evaluation of the meeting held in July 2023 “Into the Deep”, as well as the “Marist Fest” and the “World Youth Day”. The commitment of the participants was excellent as they spent a large part of the weekend proposing strategies to continue to improve Marist pastoral action on behalf of the youth from Europe and the Institute.
The two teams also worked on the preparation of the March Encounter to be held in August 2024, as well as other important youth events such as the Youth Jubilee to which Pope Francis has invited in 2025, the next March Encounter scheduled for 2026 and the WYD in 2027. In addition to these events, they also focused on how they and the young people who are part of Marist Youth Ministry can deepen their relationship with Jesus.
The meeting ended with a call to service and a desire to meet again on February 3 and 4 in Barcelona.
