After living exceptional experiences together, such as Into the Deep, Marist Festival, and the JMJ in Lisbon in 2023, the European Marist Youth Team (EJEM) held its second meeting of the 23-24 academic year in Barcelona. The purpose of this reunion was to prepare for the Encuentro Marcha, scheduled to take place in the same city from August 3th to 9th, 2024.
The venue for this event was El Casal, located in the facilities of Llinars de Vallés. The choice of location was not random, as it will be the same place where the Encuentro Marcha will be held in the summer of 2024. Likewise, the selection of Helena Fajula, from L’Hermitage Province, as the president of EJEM for this academic year was not coincidental. Helena, thank you for accepting the challenge, you have our full support in this endeavor!
Accompanied by the European Pastoral Team, the European Mission Secretary, and working collaboratively with the youth from the FAJMACOR movement (Marists Catalonia), the EJEM youth have been able to see on the ground the best way to develop the activities of this encounter. The main goal is to accompany adolescents and young people in their paths of spirituality, personal growth, fraternity, service, and vocation.
Fraternity and Prayer
Part of the success in planning Marcha also came from moments of fraternity. The youth shared meals with the mixed Marist community of Llinars and had times of prayer and worship accompanied by the Marist musical group Ubuntu. All these activities set the stage for an event that hopes to be significant in the personal and spiritual lives of its participants. The EJEM will finalize the planning in their third meeting in Rome in April.
This is how the Marist European Youth continue to assume, with responsibility, commitment, and joy, their desire to share the gospel in every opportunity that life presents to them. We deeply admire you and encourage you to proceed with your mission!
