There are currently three new volunteers in Mindelheim. One young woman comes from South Africa and has been working in a kindergarten since April 2022, a young woman from Uganda has been working in the youth centre since October and recently another young woman from Uganda has joined us who will be doing her voluntary service in the senior citizens’ home.
All three live in the Cmi House (Colaboration for mission international and is a voluntary service of young people with a Marist background), where the cmi office is also located.
We are now happy to have three new volunteers from Furth and three from Mindelheim to support the Marists. Now these six new volunteers are being prepared by our cmi team for their voluntary service abroad.
A welcoming ceremony was held last weekend. Our incoming volunteers reported on their experiences and expectations so far. Possible volunteer working places were presented and the registration in “Nexus” was started. Currently we can also welcome a couple from South Brazil in our community, who now want to stay permanently in Mindelheim. He will develop the pastoral work in the youth house and together they complement the life in the Marist community in Mindelheim.
Our new residents come from countries where it is currently hot and summery. Now they are very happy to see and feel the first snow of their lives.
